Oxymoron
An oxymoron ("oxim-oron", not "oxy-moron") is a phrase in which the meaning of one part is in diametric opposition to the meaning of another part. The political ideology of modern American conservatism is replete with oxymorons.

Good examples of an oxymoron are intelligent racist, military intelligence, congressional action, creation science, common sense conservative, small-government neoconservative, and business ethics. According to some other people, however, pro-life Democrat, liberal Christian, conservative professor, libertarian socialist, dishonest conservative, and same-sex marriage are oxymorons.
